About Olivia

Olivia Everitt is a grant writer, arts consultant and project coordinator with over 12 years’ experience working with not-for-profits, local government and in the arts and cultural sector. Currently based in the Gympie region, Olivia has previously lived and worked in Brisbane, Cairns and the South Burnett. Olivia enjoys working with clients in rural and regional Queensland and beyond, on both short-term projects and an ongoing basis to provide specialist support in grant writing, arts and economic development.

Olivia’s range of professional services includes grant writing, workshop facilitation, corporate training, strategic and cultural planning, project coordination, community engagement and more.

Professional Experience

Establishing her consultancy business in 2013, Olivia’s career has also included roles at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Cairns Regional Council and South Burnett CTC. During Olivia’s four years at Cairns Regional Council, she worked as part of the Cultural Planning team on the development of Council's five-year cultural plan (Strategy for Culture and the Arts 2022) and also as the Assistant Program Coordinator and Acting Assistant Curator, supporting the Tanks Arts Centre performing and visual arts programs and the Cairns Children's Festival. As Curator of Public Programs at QUT’s Creative Industries Precinct, Olivia developed and delivered over 180 public programs which included artist and curator’s talks, exhibition tours, education and professional development programs, networking events and community art projects. 

Most recently, Olivia has served the Blackbutt community as Arts Officer for Blackbutt Avocado Festival, delivering arts programs and working with community stakeholders to develop the Blackbutt Arts Strategy 2026. Olivia is an appointed member on the Wide Bay Burnett Fraser Coast Regional Community Forum, and has been a national grants peer assessor for both the Australia Council for the Arts (Creative Australia) and Regional Arts Australia.

Qualifications & Awards

Olivia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) with Distinction from the Queensland University of Technology and a Master of Business (Arts and Cultural Management) from Deakin University. Olivia’s academic achievements and service to the arts and cultural sector have been recognised through a number of awards, including Creative Woman of the Year (2021 - QRRRWN) and South Burnett Senior Cultural Award (2021 - South Burnett Regional Council Australia Day Awards).
